Healthcare costs are unsustainable. We must do everything we can to get them under control.

Healthcare costs are a drain on families, businesses, and the state. Money that could be spent saving for retirement or hiring new employees instead goes to pay health insurance premiums and medical bills. Healthcare spending is also the largest expense in the state budget with $12 billion dollars spent just on Medicaid. Obamacare and the Governor’s Medicaid expansion didn’t do anything to contain runaway healthcare costs, they just left taxpayers footing the bill.

I will fight to reduce the cost of healthcare by:

  1. Increasing competition and transparency in the healthcare industry
  2. Promoting value-based care initiatives
  3. Removing disincentives to work for Medicaid recipients
  4. Reducing fraud and waste in the $12 billion state Medicaid program
